So shlim (aka Tim) and I have been working on a little project in secret now for a while, and now that the bare-bones of it are online, I'd like to introduce our just-born website, The Josh Files!
This website is our way of trying to bring the community a little closer, help out the completists out there, and especially help out all of those new fans just coming in to join in on the fun. I know I had a relatively difficult time tracking things down when I first arrived, and even those that were here before me have been surprised by a rare variant every now and then. So this site's goal is to catalog all of Josh's published work. A master list, if you will, of everything us fans might be looking for.
What the site will become is largely left to feedback and suggestions. What do YOU want to see? What would help YOU? What would YOU find cool? Tim and I have some ideas, and you'll see them coming to fruition as I write the code for the site. Expect a searchable database, lots of images, links, background information, and whatever else we can put together.
But Tim and I don't have everything. Like the Pink Sketchbook. Neither of us has a copy. Does someone else out there have one that they'd be willing to scan the cover of? Or even take a digital picture? Something to add to the site. We want and need your help. If there's anything you all have been, it's helpful. Helping each other out was how I got to know Tim. It's that sense of community we're hoping to foster.
So, in closing, I want to say thank you to everyone who's been a part of this community, who's helped out a fellow reader or collector, or even just been a nice person. You've all made this a great place. And of course thanks to Josh, for sharing your talent with us all, and for being the nicest guy us fans could ask for. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for you!
P.S. Tim will try and be all modest and say he hasn't done much. Ignore him. He's awesome.
P.P.S. We'll use this thread for all future feedback and suggestions, and if you have any pictures you want to post for the site.
Wow, you 2 kicked ASS! I cant wait to see where you go with this.
Thanks! The positive response from people (some of who are already sending in scans of rare items) and especially from Josh is very encouraging.
As for plans, right now we're still just double-checking the list, getting information as thorough and accurate as possible, and collecting the best quality images we can. While that's going on, I'm working on getting all of this information into a searchable database and giving it a pretty user interface. From there, the sky's the limit, and we're certainly taking suggestions for any features people want to see!

WOW! great work JJ! If anyone knows him, knows that he is an asset to this site. and he has become a really good friend. I would have posted earlier but i had a little stint in the hospital. I too hope that all the info we put on the site will help out all of josh's fans and introduce new people to the world of josh's work. I also wouel like to thanks the many people that have posted and helped me to get all the oddball and hard to find item's thanks again and good hunting! tim
Also, here's a link to the Super Real store page (not to be a shameless promoter per se, but since you talk about being a resource to actually sourcing the stuff too ) http://superrealgraphics.com/page3.html
Also, the cover art for the first regular issue (1 B) was used on a couple of low run preview editions, not sure if you want the skinny on those too? (I may even still have some of them floating around)
Just let me know, I'll be glad to help with whatever I can.
I've already seen some stuff on your list I'd no idea about either
So, if you want any help with the stuff of his he's done for me at Super Real, just let me know.
Thanks, Jason! Being a fan of YOUR work, I've got cover images on my hard drive and the links in my bookmarks, which is exactly why I haven't added them yet; because I know exactly where to find those! Color me...well, not lazy...just working on another aspect of the site. I've been focusing on design since just putting up the initial list. I figure once I've got the back-end database done, I'm going to shift focus to getting every last detail and image in there.
Although this rare special preview issue thing...we could definitely use more info on that. For me, particularly exactly what to call it, so I can add it to the list. I would also wager that plenty of people (read: definitely Tim & I!) would love a copy, if they are still around.
I'll probably hit you up for bigger versions sometime soon. Thank you so much for your offer to help out! Really appreciate it!

Okay, cool, no problem. And thanks!

Okay, well, I dug through my archives, and figured it out (for a while there, I printed up different preview books, and advance copies, before the book was distributed, via print on demand, to sell at cons and such... so there are quite a few early preview books and ash cans for Super Real)...
Looks like I used that image 3 times, prior to the official distributed issue 1 B:
November 2004 - Super Real Larry's Comics Preview Edition -limited to 1000 copies, the Josh art is on the back cover, as a flip cover of sorts (with different graphics etc). It previews 17 pages of issue 1, but includes an earlier version of a scene than what was in the final book, along with 5 pages of cast bios, and a sketch/pinup not printed elsewhere... those I have copies of. http://www.superrealgraphics.com/larrysbackcover.jpg
April 2005 - Super Real number 1 Advance Edition - This I don't recall, I believe it was to send out for advance reviews only, and would be very limited, just a few, likely (10-20?) via POD (if you want hard data on it, I can figure it out)... it's the full first issue, in color, virtually the same as the regular release (so it still also includes the Josh H interview and cover image center poster). But the Josh cover B (and regular cover for that matter) has different background and graphics etc. Also of note, a section of issue 2 is included in it's originally intended spot, towards the end of issue 1. http://www.superrealgraphics.com/frontcover_b.jpg
July 2005 - Super Real number 1 SDCC edition - This is the first full issue, as it was in the regular release, but in black and white, minus the Josh H interview and poster mid section, with a unique intro page. There were likely around 100-200 of these printed up, again, I'd have to check, can't remember. The Josh cover being a 50/50 split, as on the "advance edition" and regular version. http://www.superrealgraphics.com/sdccfrontcover_b.jpg
I put links to examples of the covers, from images that I already have online... if you need something more on those too, just let me know.
I don't think I have any of these last two POD versions available (as with all the POD previews etc, I printed those to sell out)... I'll double check.

You bet. Just let me know.
I'm either a collectors dream, or worst nightmare, with all the pod versions, and cover variants I do

Thanks man! THere is more Super Real to come, but there's some changes coming that I still need to resolve...
But I've got many other projects in the pipeline!
And yes, I never miss SDCC, same spot as always, small press S16 (on the back wall of the hall).
Have we met? There? The cons and fans get to be such a blur... there are many I recognize, but I'm terrible with names

Well guys, looks like, as suspected, I just have a handful of copies of the Larry's Comics Preview (the 1k run, with the Josh art on back cover).
I only have 7 copies left, but Larry still has them up on his site at $10 ea, so looks like that's the going rate.
If you want one from me just shoot me an email or PayPal payment to jasinmartin@hotmail.com for $10 and that'll get you 1st class shipping. If you want priority, add an extra $3.
I don't have any (aside from the file/historical/personal copy) of the others
